Ibanez SB70, or "Spartan" made in Japan 1982.
This guitar was made by Ibanez using discontinued model parts. Urban myth has it that only 400 or so were made, hence the name "Spartan"!!
The S stands for Studio, where the body comes from.
The B stands for Blazer, where the neck comes from.
The 70 comes from the Di Marzio Super 70 humbucker pick-ups installed.
Body is made from very pretty natural solid ash. It was stained with a dark mahogany colour but has been brought back to natural wood. The neck is maple, with a nice c contour.
1 volume, 2 tone controls. 3 way toggle switch and a "phase" switch.
All in perfect working order. Very light wear on the frets.
Mechanics are Ibanez smooth tuners.
A very versatile guitar that adapts to all kinds of playing styles. You can get all different sounds/tones out of it without loads of pedals!
