6 Chord Zither with Modulators
An unusual 6 chord zither modified by the monks from Dourgne, South of France.
This was originally a 5 chord guitar zither made by Musima in 1984. It was then modified by the monks from the abbey - d'En Calcat. They've basically added an extra chord and reduced the melody strings from 21 to 19. With the use of the modulators it gives the choice of playing 12 chords!
Choice of tuning for the melody strings. Either how they are noted on the zither or a basic chromatic harp tuning (without sharps and flats!).
Good condition for 40 years old! Tuning pins in good shape and they hold the note. No cracks or wood shrinkage. Strings in good condition and it will be tuned and tested before leaving my workshop. It does come with a tuning key.
Quite a rare model, the first I've seen modified like this.
