5 Chord Mandolin Fretless Zither
A 5 chord mandolin zither made in Saxony (E.Germany)
This has 5 sets of chords each with 4 strings. The melody side has 21 notes of double course strings, 42 strings. 62 strings all together.
Interesting Alpine type motifs. Mountains and Edelweiss!
It is in a playable condition, no cracks, all the joints are well glued.
The strange thing about this one is that the chord strings are tightened by turning the pins anti-clockwise, the melody strings are tightened by turning the pins clockwise. The chord strings are chrome colored while the melody pins are black!
I tune the zithers before leaving my workshop and it comes with a tuning key.
